New Release: CES Survey Online Course

The HMIS training team would like to announce the release of the NEW CES Survey Online Course! This course is designed for agencies serving individuals experiencing homelessness. This interactive course reviews the essential components of CES and demonstrates how to enter the CES Survey in HMIS.

HMIS 514 – CES Survey Online Course:

 For new HMIS users this course is required after you complete HMIS 509 – Basic Navigation training.

 For existing HMIS users, we are strongly recommending that you take this course as a refresher. 

To participate in the HMIS 514 – CES Survey online course, register at training.lahsa.org. Upon registration you will receive an email confirmation which includes the link and instructions to begin the course.

Attention HMIS users!

You can now submit your Acknowledgement form and HMIS User Agreement electronically through your Training account. To submit these forms, log-in to your LAHSA Training Account and follow the directions below.

 

  1. Find and Click the 'Agreements' link in your Profile (lower-left side);
  2. Click on the User Agreement or LA/OC HMIS Policies & Procedures form to open;
  3. Read it carefully and thoroughly; then,
  4. Go back to the Agreements page and click 'I Agree' button to submit the form

Housing Provider Training Video

It is important to accurately capture housing resources as they become available within your community to better aide the housing of those experiencing homelessness and expedite Coordinated Entry System (CES) matches.

Exit Destination Video

The HMIS training team would like to announce the release of the Exit Destination video!

This video demonstrate how to effectively record exit destination for Permanent, Temporary, Institutional and Other Destinations.

It is important to accurately capture destinations as it will impact your performance reports such as the Quarterly Performance Report (QPR) and Annual Progress Report (APR). These reports contain the measurement criteria and the targets that are specified in your contract.

This video will benefit all users of the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).

New Training Platform Released

The HMIS training team would like to announce our new online video hosting platform Articulate Online that will replace Mind flash effective September 1, 2016. Articulate Online is a user-friendly host service that allows us to track how users interact with our e-learning courses, track learner activity, assessments, and presentations.

What does this mean for you? It means more interactive online video tutorials! For users who have already completed HMIS 10 – Policies & Procedures of HMIS, through Mindflash, we will import your course history details into your training profile. For new users who register for HMIS 10, an Articulate Online account will automatically be created for you. Your username and password will be the same as your training website account, all you have to do is log-in. It’s that simple!

The training team streamlined its operations by removing the process for end-users to create a separate account to access our training videos. It is our goal to create, support and sustain training solutions that will achieve maximum productivity with minimum wasted effort.
